Breastfeeding and dolls.
Someone I know just posted something on Facebook about a doll being manufactured that either breastfeeds or is breastfed. Now, I am quite sure that if my kids were still in the doll buying age, I would not purchase this doll for them. I’ve never been a fan of any doll that eats, drinks or defecates. But…..I am shocked and saddened by the comments that follow this woman’s post. Her friends, both men and women, compare breastfeeding to fellatio, blow up sex dolls, and push up bikinis for tweens.
Breastfeeding is not a sexual act in the slightest. To lump it into this category, even jokingly, demeans every mother who makes the choice to nurse. And we wonder why women still don’t feel comfortable nursing discreetly in public.
