Looking in my backyard today, in 10 minutes time,
I saw a titmouse, two cardinals, a goldfinch, a pair of house finches, a sweet pair of chickadees, a multitude of house sparrows, a nuthatch, a bluejay, a starling, chipmunks, squirrels….and two mother fucking rats!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

– Rep. Sally Kern of Oklahoma, demonstrating why she’s one of the worst people ever. The interview is in advance of her forthcoming book, The Stoning of Sally Kern. Shit you not, that’s what it’s called. She’s a complete victim, right? (via cognitivedissonance) What’s most appalling about this...

We got a third cat last night.
Well, actually a kitten. And my other two cats, who I love to death, are acting like typical posturing males. I hope this works out, but right now along with wanting to kill the tiny kitten, they sort of want to kill each other too, which they have never done before. They are brothers and really love each other. But that was last night, this morning they seem to have gotten up with me and...

ugh: Weird things →
bayswaterlondonw2: You know what is weird about being an adult? One day you realize you aren’t doing what you want to do with your free time, and you kind of don’t even know what you want to do anymore. I have been thinking about this lately. Actually, its not necessarily “adult” related but its marriage and…  Very true….butI’ve found as my kids get older, they get more...

Can't wait to be taunted today.
Today I get to spend the day after the gay marriage bill was passed in NY with my ultra Catholic, conservative in-laws at a graduation party. So, this is something that has puzled me for some time. Does anyone else find that conservatives live to bait liberals into arguments? My husband’s family, who are real Fox News social conservatives, seem to relish singling me out, as the lone...

Hooray for NY!
It came down to the wire, but I am so happy that the NY legislation passed the gay marriage bill into law last night! I can only hope that more states will follow in NY’s footsteps. And kudos to Governo Cuomo for working so hard on this!

Columbo died!
Peter Falk, although most of the people on Tumblr probably just know him as the grandfather from The Princess Bride. Very sad.

Couldn't they get a better picture?
So we have my nephew’s graduation party tomorrow. It’s almost 2 hours away, and there is just no room at my sister-in-law’s or my father-in-laws house for the 5 of us. Understood, that’s fine. We would like to have a good time, have a few drinks and laughs, and not have to worry about a 2 hour treck home. So I just went to priceline a hotel in the area. This is the...

Deathly Hallows
In May I decided to re-read the whole Harry Potter series again. Last night I finished the Half Blood Prince. Today I’m starting the Deathly Hallows. I realized that I have now read books 1-6 three times each, and this will only be the second time I am reading book 7. I feel like I cheated book 7 and should read it two times in a row. I’m crazy right?

Jesus Effing Christ
They have been testing the fucking fire alarms all day. I know that there is some logic to doing that during working hours so that you don’t have to pay the techs an evening differential, but have some god damn consideration for those of us that work here all day every day. My ears are ringing, I have a headache, and think I will have a heart attack every time the alarm starts again and I...
