Breastfeeding and dolls.
Someone I know just posted something on Facebook about a doll being manufactured that either breastfeeds or is breastfed. Now, I am quite sure that if my kids were still in the doll buying age, I would not purchase this doll for them. I’ve never been a fan of any doll that eats, drinks or defecates. But…..I am shocked and saddened by the comments that follow this woman’s post....

I know I reblogged this yesterday, but DAMN it’s a great point.

It’s crazy that this is not a made up skit on a comedy show!

Boiling over
Often Sometimes I feel like I am a big phony. I feel like I am barely holding together all the strings of my life from unraveling. People have this image of me as put together, organized and efficient, but it feel like I can barely keep up with all of my obligations, keep things running smoothly and in order. Throw in anything unexpected and I am sure the boat is going to capsize. I wonder if I am...

Apropos Of Nothing
lazybookreviews:
In “Beauty and the Beast,” the greatest of all Disney movies (no, seriously, shut up), did anyone else feel that the Beast was actually more attractive than the rando human dude he turned back into?
I mean, I’m not sure if you could actually have sex with him AS the Beast, because, well, parts? but if you could, then Belle got a raw deal.
Also my favorite Disney movie. I...

Men can be like big babies...
in every aspect of their lives. At home, at work, at play. They need their egos stroked or they pout. They have to think everything is their idea. The game goes along lovely as long as the women around are willing to play it. When that does happen, the shit really hits the fan. You would think that they would outgrow this at some point. I’m still waiting. I have a feeling I will be waiting...
To get the full value of joy, you must have someone to divide it with.

I have read 24 books since Christmas
For the last few years, I couldn’t wrap my mind around what it would feel like to hold an electronic device in my hands, instead of the paper of a book. Since the price of the Kindle dropped, I decided to go ahead and give it a shot. My husband got me one for Christmas and I haven’t stopped reading since 11 AM December 25, 2010.
Granted, a few of them weren’t great, and one of...

Healthy
Today I am making two decisions:
I will eat healthier. I will make conscience decisions to cut fat and sugar.
I will buy clothes that fit me until the first decision shows some effect.
I am happy with this. It’s better than feeling sorry for myself and wearing the same clothes over and over and over. I have done it before. I lost 40lbs, I can do it again.

Inlaws
Let’s face it, more times than not, they are a pain in the ass. Or at least that’s what we think. Our spouses, however, willl argue. They can call their own family whatever they want, but the minute you say something about them, then you are wrong.
And they want you to treat them like family, but they don’t treat you like you are a real part of their family, only an extension to...
